My Story
Caleb Canavan
The Lord allowed me to grow up on the mission field of Ireland, serving with my family. After graduating from Crown College, I have served with my wife (and now children) at Calvary Baptist Church in Smithfield, VA as the Assistant Pastor working in the Youth, Music, and Media ministries. I love serving the Lord with my family and seeing God’s work continue around the world.
Having grown up on the mission field, and my parents still missionaries in Ireland, my brother and His family missionaries in Ireland, an uncle a missionary to India, another uncle a church-planter, I am continually reminded of the great need to work at engaging our church in missions. One of the best ways to do this is to keep it missions accessible and always in front of them. The Digital Missions Screen is a fun and interactive way to engage all ages of our church in our missions program.
A while back, my Pastor (Pastor Greg Gray) came to me about creating a Digital Mission Screen in the foyer of our church to replace our beloved, but out-of-date missions map. As I began to look around at some options, they were hard to find. The option I could find was quite expensive and not as aesthetically pleasing as I hoped. Additionally, anything I could find seemed like an enormous amount of work to set up. This prompted me to begin thinking about how could we do this better, for cheaper.
Our missions kiosk, is not complicated – I’m sure it can be improved on – but it has worked great for us, and I’m sure it can work great for you. If you can use Excell and Powerpoint, then you can easily use and update your Missions Kiosk with a minimal amount of work. I hope this will be a blessing to you, and help keep the vital work of missions in front of your church people!
Aesthetically Pleasing
You’ll find the Digital Mission Screen looks great and works well! It adds a touch of “modern” to your church mission’s program and also keeps your missions updates in front of your people.
Easy On The Budget
Your Digital Mission Screen is cost-conscious. If you are willing to DIY your own setup you could set yours up for less than $2,000, but if you want help setting it up it can still be easily accomplished for
